WHAT IS KINETIC SAND?
Kinetic sand is my favorite sensory play material. Mostly because I love playing with it and I love that it is easy to clean up. You can use it just like Play dough but it won't ever dry out because its made with sand mixed with magic (or some sort of glue) Kinetic sand is perfect for open-ended play and can be used for so many different activities. MATERIALS
VALENTINE'S DAY ACTIVITIES
COOKIE CUTTERS
Roll out the play sand with a rolling pin, and use Play Sand with heart or valentine-themed cookie cutters. Then decorate by drawing with a pointed stick or decorate with objects from your VALENTINE'S TINKER TRAY.
HEART SCULPTURE
Sculpt a heart and add patterns and designs with beads, small rocks, toothpicks or other loose parts from a TINKER TRAY.
VALENTINE CUPCAKES
Make Valentine cupcakes with sand in a muffin tin or cupcake wrapper and then decorate with more loose parts or other materials. Decorative paper straws make great candles and beads make fun sprinkles.
LOVE LETTERS
Use a pointed stick, rubber alphabet stamps or plastic letter magnets to write Valentine words or names of their friends/Valentines.
VALENTINE FLOWER ARRANGEMENT
Plant faux flowers in the bucket of sand to create aValentine flower arrangement (Pair activity with book Plant a Kiss by Amy Krause Rosenthal)
