1. ONLY A TREE KNOWS HOW TO BE A TREEΒ by Mary Murphy
2.CREATURE FEATUREΒ by Natasha Durley
3. HERE WE ARE: NOTES FOR LIVING ON PLANET EARTH Β by Oliver Jeffers
4. HIKE by Pete Oswald
From the New York Times Best-Selling illustrator that brought us The Bad Seed and The Good Egg, Hike is a (mostly) wordless picture book about a father and son that go for a hike in the woods. The gorgeous illustrations capture the beauty of nature as we join them on their adventure. The pair climbs to the top of a mountain where they continue the family tradition of planting a tree.
8. ALBA AND THE OCEAN CLEANUP by Lara Hawthorne
This beautifully illustrated children's book is a great Earth Day book about the importance of saving our ecosystem. Alba the fish collects little treasures that end up on the ocean floor but as time passes she notices less treasures and more trash! On her birthday she gets stuck in a plastic bottle and is saved by a little girl named Kaia. Kaia decides to do something about the pollution and clean up the ocean so it is safe for Alba and her friends. The bold and modern illustrations, textured cover with gold leaf and adorable end papers make this picture book really special. At the end of the book we can learn more about sea life and what we can do to save our oceans.
Seeds are amazing things. The whimsical illustrations and simple text tell of the great potential of seeds-their journey, transformation and perseverance. Seeds isn't just about seeds from plants but also about the metaphoric seeds like seeds that start as a small fight and grow into something bigger. This book reminds us to plant seeds of kindness and that we decided which seeds we plant and help to grow.
9. A WALK IN THE FOREST by Maria Dek
10. THE GREAT PAPER CAPER by Oliver Jeffers
11. TIDY by Emily Gravett
12. SEEDS by Carme Lemniscates
